Hi, I’m Tomas Siroky, and I’ve been immersed in the world of music for as long as I can remember. Coming from a musical family, I’ve been surrounded by instruments and music my whole life. I started playing the violin at age 6, then switched to double bass at 13. After studying at the conservatory, I played with the South Bohemian Opera Orchestra, but my journey took a new turn when I moved to England in 2013.

In the UK, I transitioned from performing in full-time orchestras to working in local bands, even making it to Glastonbury Festival with a group I still play with. I also worked at Bonners Piano Centres in Eastbourne, where I learned the art of piano tuning, repair, and maintenance.

What I Do Today

Now, my main focus is on my piano tuning business, Pianocheck.co.uk. I’m proud to offer a highly professional service, not only tuning but also repairing and servicing pianos. I use the most advanced technology and tools available to ensure your piano sounds at its absolute best.

Piano tuning is more than just a job for me—it’s a passion. I love working in a field where I’m surrounded by musicians, constantly learning and connecting with people who share the same love for music. For me, tuning an instrument is a way to make the world a little better, one note at a time. Music is a healer, and every time I tune a piano, I’m helping make it sing with precision and clarity, allowing its owner to unlock their full creative potential.

What Makes Me Different

I believe in doing things right, not quickly. While many my piano tuners colleagues may aim to complete a job fast (I don’t mean to suggest that they do it wrong!), I prefer to take my time—each piano receives the attention it deserves even though I should stay longer than planned. I typically allocate at least an hour and a half for tuning, ensuring that I achieve the best possible result every time. I don’t believe in rushing through a process that requires care, precision, and patience.

As an ETD (Electronic Tuning Device) piano tuner, I use cutting-edge software developed by professional tuners and engineers. This technology helps me achieve highly accurate, consistent results—often surpassing the precision of traditional aural tuning methods.

One of the key tools I use to ensure exceptional quality is the CyberHammer, an advanced impact tuning lever. This tool allows me to adjust the piano’s strings with remarkable precision, giving me the ability to fine-tune with even greater accuracy than standard tuning levers. By using the CyberHammer, I can make adjustments that result in a clearer, more stable tuning that will last longer and sound better

Who I Work With

I work with a wide range of clients, from families with children and music teachers to community centers, schools, and churches. If you play the piano—whether you’re a professional musician, a hobbyist, or a beginner—I’m here to help keep your instrument in top condition. Some of my clients include film and TV music producers, conductors, and theatre directors. It’s a privilege to be trusted with pianos that are used in such creative and important spaces.

Achievements & Personal Life

Looking back, I’m proud to have built a life in music, working in various capacities—as a professional musician, music teacher, piano delivery driver, orchestra director, and now as a piano tuner and technician. It’s not always been easy, but being able to make a living from something I’m passionate about is a dream come true.

When I’m not working on pianos, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, traveling, and practicing meditation. I believe in living a balanced life, and that balance helps me to be the best I can in my work.
